I turned 50 this year, and got news that I will be a grandmother in 2006. Id feel pretty old if I wasn't signed up to visit Northern Italy on a motor scooter. WooHoo! That's it - life is good and God has made it that way. 1998 - Hey, I can't let Gene have all the fun... First and foremost is my dedication to the most loving force in my life - Jesus Christ. My relationship with Him shapes and flavors my life in so many ways. I think if I could look inside myself, I'd see Him there smiling out at me. I love a song by PCD which says "For I am crucified with Christ, not I but Christ that lives within me". My secondmost loving force (besides my mom who defies description - you are an amazing mom), would be my husband, Gene. We are the ultimate opposites, but it works for us. God truly blessed us with each other. I don't have an official job title but wear many hats. My biggest role must be that of "problem solver", which is usually quite a challenge when it ranges from "I need to find a house" to "my castle is due tomorrow". I think that I like my old "John Deere" hat a lot since I find myself cutting grass and pasture quite often, and my taxi driver cap seems permanently attached since I am constantly running to school, diving, skating, church, ifinity and beyond. In my spare time I bowl once a week, and, well, I guess I am glad that I like doing what I do in what isn't my spare time. No, really, I do get to travel some, which has become my passion (when I get enough spare energy to be passionate about anything besides sleep). Gene has been very generous and sacrificing (he gets to wear my hats while I'm gone) as I have flown off to St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Hawaii, Destin, Florida and will head out for Key Largo, Florida later this year. I have found that I cook and bake well - thanks Dad for giving me a piece of yourself that I will never forget. I love to entertain, the more the merrier, and as long as everyone stays out of the kitchen, they won't get run over. So, I guess you could say that my kids have been a great portion of my life, but what a wild goose chase it has been. Don't irritate the alligator until you get across the river.
