1-1-2007 - In keeping with the great swings of highs and lows of 2005, 2006 brought more pain at the loss of my father, or "Pappap" as all the kids called him.    He left behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of story telling that while never being able to be repeated the same way he did, the many stories will never be forgotten either.  I am slowly... very slowly becoming fluent in Italian and have completely fallen in love with the country and culture.  I took two trips to Italy this year and biked (more like "suffered") through the Dolomites following the Giro d'Italia and then later through the Piemonte areas with Lorraine "in tow".    My company Tele-Tracking also officially marked its 15th year in 2006, growing to a family of more than 150 employees.  It’s come a long way since the “basement days”.

1-1-2006 - This last year, 2005, was a year of great highs and dismal lows.  The highs were going to the French Open alone (yes, that means I got to see 7 hrs and play 2 hrs per day with no guilt!), teaching my boys to snowboard in Canada, and taking a 5 day bike trip with my boys and my dad.  This was my dad's first trip where "Iron Man", at 74, finally met his match, and rode all days but half of day 1.  My best high though, has become my "annual honeymoon" with Lorraine in Italy.

The lows were 3 fold - my teenage girls have discovered.... uh... actually, boys have discovered them in full force.  My company Tele-Tracking has grown so much (a good thing) that we have lost most of my personal finger print (a sad thing).  The worst low though was the passing of my mother.  However, even in her dying days she managed to bring the family together, in utter confusion and mahem - her favorite environment.  She lasted 2 weeks after being taken off of life support (according to her wishes); something the doctors said would not happen - but everyone got to say "goodbye" before she went to join Jesus.  I don't think I will fully feel the affects for some time to come.  For now, I just miss her.

Since having my hip replacement on June 1st, 1999, I have been "born again" physically.  My experimental stainless steel hip has been all I had prayed for, and so much more.  The Lord has added his blessing to the phenominal work of Dr. Harlun Amstutz (www.jri.com) to allow me to mountain bike, snowboard, play tennis, etc.  Recently (2004) the Joint Replacement Institute put me on their home page as a sort of "poster child" for surface replacements - to check it out, click on the picture here:

With my spiritual rebirth (in 1978) I am slowly becoming a "whole person".  The links above are the various adventures I have been blessed with.  The links below are self explanatory.
