Cioccaro di Penango – Final Day Unfortunately, this was our last day. At last, the itinerary planned a lighter riding day – fewer miles and hills – so we could relax a bit more before returning home. We had one final tour through another regional wine cellar just before lunch, and we rode through many more tiny towns for the day. After lunch, half of the group went to see a small “grappa” producer, and the other half simply shortened the ride, and stopped for gelato on the way home – naturally, I was in the gelato group J. The evening was filled with fond farewells, many toasts and some new friends comitted to staying in touch. Most notably, a few of us who were on our 2nd tour together decided that we now know enough riders who love Italy and the guides of Ciclismo to create a “custom tour” with a group of people of our own choosing, guides of our own choosing, and an itinerary that will allow us “days off” riding, and a variety of other activities beyond cycling. Gia, non vedo l’ora di ritornare….Already, I can’t wait to come back. |
